If you have been searching the information about losing weight fast or diet types you probably heard about the Atkins diet. Low carb dieting reached the popularity because of Dr Robert Atkins researches and announcements. But is low carb weight loss safe and easy method worth to try?

Let's watch how it works. Low carb diet means lowering the intake of products and foods containing high level of carbohydrates. There are wide range of them so you have to be ready to be emotionally strong but it's like that with every diet.

So, the products are: bread, pasta, beans, potatoes, bran, rice and cereals. This element is one of the sources of energy.

But there's one "but". Carbohydrates are not essential nutrients in the human body. A human can obtain the energy not only from them. It also can be done from proteins and fats.

And here comes the idea of the Atkins diet and all the low carb diets - lower the intake of carbohydrates and replace them with fats and proteins. That's what the low carb weight loss about.

Products containing fats and proteins are the following but not limited to: vegetables, cheese, nuts, berries, fruits, grains.

Low carb weight loss is safe and natural if you lower the intake of carbohydrates step by step so you feel more comfortable. But be sure to eat carbs sometimes, too. By that you keep the balance.

Loose tummy?
I have lost 35 lbs on a low carb diet over 10 months. I still have about 20 lbs to go (I lose weight very slowly). I love the low carb life way of eating as I feel great and have tons of energy and my physician has found no negative effects. I work out about 20 min every morn w/crunches, push ups etc. and fit in cardio when I can. My tummy is staying so flabby :-( I am having a hard time loosing the last belly fat and am worried that my skin won't tighten up as well. Has anyone had this problem and did you find a solution? Also, if anyone knows how to kick start my low carb weight loss a bit I would appreciate any input.

To lose fat, do I have to watch calories, or carbs?
I'm sure I'm not the first one confused by this low carb weight loss fad. I had some friends say low carbs diets has worked for them. I try researching on the net on the real way to lose fat, and I found the answer is calorie intake/expenditure. I found the BMR calculator and calculated how much calorie intake I need to lose 2 lbs/week. So in essence, should I only worry about my calorie intake to lose fat? Or should I completley avoid "white" foods with carbs, because they are the true fat generators?

Hi. Over the past year I've gained a stone from 7.5stones to 8.5 stones. I used to eat very healthily and eat quite low carb foods but I have let myself go. I'm desperate to lose the weight. I attend the gym but i want to embark on a low carb diet so would like to know how long it will take to lose weight and what foods to eat?
