Achieve Safe, Healthy Weight Loss by Listening to Your Body
It's a common misconception that you have to diet in order to lose weight. Dieting usually entails depriving yourself of all the foods you enjoy; cheeseburgers, cake, and candy are definitely outlawed on many diets. After all, these things have little to no nutritional value, so they can't be good for weight loss or healthy eating.
At least, that's what most people think.
So here's a novel thought. What would you think if someone told you that safe, healthy weight loss can be attained even while eating the things you want? Would you believe them or think it was nonsense?
Just take a minute and think about WHY people are fat. It's not just because we eat unhealthy food. It's because we eat too much unhealthy food and don't get enough physical activity. Millions of people are stuck in desk jobs that leave them too exhausted to work out at the end of the day, and they're often forced to eat fast food or junk food because it's quick and easy.
While you can't really eat three meals a day at fast food restaurants and expect to be healthy and feel good (look at the documentary Supersize Me), you can continue to eat your favorite foods and still achieve safe, healthy weight loss. You just need to be a little more careful about it.
For example. You eat healthfully 80% of the time (whole wheat cereal for breakfast, a turkey sandwich with low fat mayonnaise and mustard for lunch, and a salmon fillet for dinner). At the end of the week, you really want to go out with friends and have a cheeseburger. That cheeseburger is not going to wreck your diet or make you fat. You've eaten well all week, so you can reward yourself by having something you really enjoy.
The key to attaining safe, healthy weight loss while still eating the foods you enjoy is moderation. Don't eat in excess, get a decent amount of exercise, and do the things you enjoy. Most importantly, listen to your body.
