Many people do not understand what to eat to lose weight. They think that in order to lose weight they must take extreme measures to do so. Sadly, the only thing extreme measures do in most cases is cause the person to fail. The good news is that there are simple changes you can make in your diet that will lead to weight loss in a much healthier way. A person who loses weight by eating healthy instead of taking extreme measures will most likely keep that weight off longer than a person who loses weight through extremes.

We all know that what we put in our mouths directly affects our weight, and therefore our health. If we want to lose weight the healthy way, we have to learn to eat a sensible diet with a balance of food groups such as fat, protein and carbs.

For the same reason, you must eat a balanced diet that will fill your body with the vitamins and minerals it needs. It is unwise to cut out complete food groups from our diets. This type of dieting usually does not lead to prolonged weight loss and can actually hurt our health rather than help our bodies become healthier.

With the South Beach and Atkins trends in the past several years, many potential dieters are under the assumption that in order to lose weight, they must cut out all carbohydrates. In reality, it is the type of carbohydrate you eat that makes a difference. While simple carbohydrates such as sugar and white flour can spike the body's blood sugar levels and leave the dieter feeling lethargic, complex carbohydrates give our bodies its energy. Consuming whole grains is an excellent way to consume carbohydrates that benefit our bodies.

The same rules apply to fats. The truth about fat is that our bodies actually need it in order to survive. The key is eating good fats such as nuts, olive oil and flax seed instead of animal fats.

By doing simple things such as reading food labels before dec iding what to eat to lose weight can make a huge difference in the amount of calories a person eats in a day. Many foods have hidden calories in them that you may not even realize your are consuming them if you do not read the labels.

What to eat to lose weight is a question many of us have. There are foods that are healthier for us than others, and if eaten in moderation, can help us lose weight.

Has anyone ever used Nutrisystem?
So I had my 4th c-section about 7 months ago and I noticed its harder to lose the weight this time. With the other 3, a little exercise and the weight just fell off but not this time. So I did Weight Watchers Points Plus but with a friend who is over 300 pounds and always wants to go eat, that was a failure and a waste of money. Now that my friend and I live 3200 miles apart, I plan to do the Points Plus again but I wanted to add Nirtisystem in with that. Has anyone used it? Does it work? I want to lose about 50-70 pounds maybe over a years time. I do exercise (Zumba on Xbox Kinect) and I plan on going to the gym since its free on base for military. I've lost 30 pounds before on Alli but I hear now that Alli isn't safe but would like to start taking it again with Nutrisystem and Points Plus. I just want to lose weight and belly fat from my many c-sections. Any suggestions? I don't eat much sometimes I only eat once or twice a day. My husband says that's a problem but I've never been a big eater. I just need some suggestions and please don't nobody tell me its impossible because I don't need negativity! I know its possible because I've done it before. I just never used Nurtisystem before...thanks!!! Oh and I know the price of Nutrisystem so that isn't an issue for me. Someone already told me not to do it because of the cost...not a concern!

Can anyone tell me how to lose weight healthily?
I have heard that rapid weight loss is dangerous and if you crash diet or fast you will just put the weight back on when you start to eat again. Can you tell me some of the right things to eat and some good exercises please because I feel unhealthy and I am starting to get stretch marks on my thighs. Unattractive I know! I want to be slender and live a healthy lifestyle. Any suggestions would help me. Thank you xxx

yoga or aerobics? Pls advice..?
I want to join either in yoga or aerobics classes and don't really know what I should go for. Any suggestions are appreciated. I am 25 years old,weigh 110 lbs and 5 '6 inches tall.. and Im not looking to lose weight any further. is aerobics more fun than yoga ? i also heard that if you do yoga for a while and then stop u put on a lot of weight.is that true??

How can I lose one stone from 9 stone?
I am already nearly 9 stone and was just wondering how I could lose weight but still eat quite alot of sugar? I find it quite hard to avoid as I find out after I've eaten something healthy that it just had tons of sugar in.
